I have a ton of duplicate books, courses and magazines about strength training, weightlifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding, physical culture, Iron Game history, boxing, wrestling, martial arts, diet,  nutrition, and related subjects, and I since I only need one copy of any particular item, I'm going to sell the rest of them.


Everything is first come, first served - meaning that the first person who shoots me an email about a given item. ("First" means "the first email in my inbox.)

Written by bodybuilding historian, Randy Roach. Paperback, 703 pages. Excellent condition. Covers bodybuilding and strength training from the "Pumping Iron" era. Contains detailed information on Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sergio Oliva, Casey Viator, and other top bodybuilders of the era; Vince Gironda and his diet and training ideas; Arthur Jones and the rise of the Nautilus machines; drugs in bodybuilding; the origin and development of the strength coaching profession, etc.

An excellent guide to old-school weightlifting and powerlifting in the 1960's and 1970's. Includes detailed instruction on how to perform the various lifts, effective assistance exercises, training programs, and competition tips. An excellent resource.

THE MIGHTY ATOM

By Ed Spielman. Hard copy. 237 pages. Many photos. Excellent condition. A detailed biography of the amazing life of an incredible strongman. The Mighty Atom was the teacher of the legendary Slim "The Hammer Man" Farman. Although he was a relatively small man, The Mighty Atom was capable of performing amazing feats of strength. He was an exponent of mind control and will-power, which he used to perform seemingly impossible feats of strength. Very interesting and highly recommended.

 TWO GUYS NAMED DAN

By Mike Chapman. Copyright 1976. Hard copy. 103 pages. Many photos. Excellent condition. This book contains a complete biography of two legendary wrestling greats: 1972 Olympic Gold Medal winner Dan Gable and three-time NCAA wrestling champion Dan Hodge, each of whom was the dominant American wrestler of his generation. Dan Gable was widely regarded as the best conditioned athlete in the world, and Dan Hodge was one of the strongest men who ever stepped on the wrestling mat - with the ability to crush an apple with his bare hand  (or break a pair of pliers by squeezing them with one hand).

HOW TO FIGHT TOUGH

By Lt. Jack Dempsey (United States Coast Guard) and Frank G. Menke. 2002 Reprint edition by Paladin Press. 128 pages, with many photographs. A rare combat classic from World War II. At the beginning of World War II, the former Heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Jack Dempsey, was placed in charge of physical conditioning and close combat training for the U.S. Coast Guard. His job was to "Make 'em tough!" He did - and this book tells you exactly how he did it.

An excellent training book for anyone interested in powerlifting and old-fashioned, "back to the basics" strength training programs. One of my favorite Iron Game books.
