Totally Heavy Iron, Batman!

My new Dinosaur Strength and Power course just raced all the way up to no. 1 in its category in the Kindle bookstore - and that's pretty good for a course that focuses on heavy iron and old-school strength training with heavy partials.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Wow and double wow!

And "Totally heavy iron, Batman!"

My Dinosaur Training course on
heavy partials has raced all the
way up to No. 1 in its category
in the Kindle bookstore.

And that's pretty good for a book

no-nonsense strength training.

A New PR in Two Short Weeks!

I launched my new Heavy Partials training course earlier this year, and many of you grabbed it and made BIG GAINS in strength, power and muscle mass -  and you made them very, very fast.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I launched my new Heavy Partials training
course earlier this year, and many of you
have grabbed it and are giving the pro-
gram a try.

That means we're getting a ton of great
feedback on it. Many of you made BIG
GAINS on the program - and you made
them VERY FAST.

For example . . .

One of our many Texas Dinos has been
doing plenty of heavy bench press partials
ever since he got the course - and in just
two weeks he set a new PR in the
bench
press.

Think about that for a second.

New course - do it for just two weeks -
and BOOM - new PR.

That's not too shabby.

It's also not a surprise.

Thirty years ago, when I was competing in
drug-free bench press and powerlifting con-
tests, I traveled from Louisville to Jackson-
ville to compete in a National bench press
contest.

My goal was to set a new age group World
record in one of the two powerlifting feder-
ations I lifted in.

Long story short, I won my age group and
weight class - but missed the World record
attempt.

I was steamed.

I drove back to Louisville cussing and fuming
the whole way.

I went on a special all-partials bench press
program for just two weeks - entered another
National Championship contest in Edison,
New Jersey - and set the new record.

When I set the record, I made an EASY lift
with the weight I had missed just two weeks
earlier in Jacksonville.

So in case you were wondering - yes, this
stuff works.

It works fast.

And it works great.

Go here, grab the new course, and see for
yourself. It's available in PDF or Kindle,
whichever you prefer:

Here's Something Really Good for Rugged Strength and Power

Let's talk about a piece of strenth training equipment that old-timers like Arthur Saxon would have loved! Too bad it wasn't available to them "back in the day" - but luckily for YOU it's available now - and you may find that it's one of the best and most effective training tools you've ever used.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

We just released the Sept-Oct 2018 issue
of The Dinosaur Files strength training
newsletter.

It's another big issue - 12 pages - with tons
of training tips, exercises and workouts -
including a very challenging program that
uses a special combination of exercises
performed with a strongman yoke.

I'm sure you've seen a strongman yoke
in WSM videos and related  other videos
on social media.

They're starting to become very popular,
and you can find them at many gyms now.

And many of you have them in your own
home gym - or are thinking about getting
one.

Turns out it's a very good training tool -
one that you can use very safely and
effectively to build plenty of strength
and muscle - along with a very high
level of cardio conditioning.

That's because you can do a lot of what
I call "finishers" with the yoke - and you
probably know that finishers are pretty
darn tough - and pretty darn effective.

It's also a very good - a very safe - way
to do heavy partials - and heavy partials
are one of the very best strength builders
there is.

But - a word of caution . . . .

Yoke training is real man-making stuff -
so if you try it and end up sore as heck,
don't say I didn't warn you - because I
just did!

A Better Way to Do 20-Rep Breathing Squats

There's a better way to do 20-rep breathing squats - and it's probably perfect for most of you. It also (get this) is similar to a program John Grimek used when he was getting started in the Iron Game - and that alone makes it very much worth trying.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

20-rep breathing squats have been
around for a long time - and trainees
around the world have used them
with excellent results.

And by "a very long time" I mean
close 100 years here in the USA.

But sadly, the standard advice on how
to start 20-rep squats and how to
progress them isn't very good.

You know what I mean.

The old "Take your 10-rep max and
force out 20-reps with it."

Which sounds heroic, but doesn't
work very well in practice.

It's MUCH BETTER to start light, and
work up slowly and gradually.

But as I said, the standard advice
sounds much more heroic - so that's
what we always see when people write
about the breathing squat.

Which is why it was quite a surprise
to see a new and different - and very
sensible - progression system for
20-rep squats.

Yes, that's what came across my screen
one day - in a workout report from one
of our many overseas Dinos.

I asked him for details, and it turned
into a nice little article - so I ran it in
the Sept-Oct issue of The Dinosaur
Files.

You can grab a copy right here - and
read the article beginning on p. 11:

www.brookskubik.com/dinosaurfiles-sep-oct2018.html

This is a great progression system for
several reasons:

1. It's safe.

2. It's challenging - but not some sort
of over the top, insanity type program.

a. It won't hit you with crippling muscular
soreness that leaves you shuffling around
like a guy doing a perp walk in leg irons.

3. It's perfect for home gym training.

4. It builds a perfect combination of
strength, muscle mass and cardio
conditioning.

5. It's excellent for older trainees - just
start light and easy and work up slowly
and sensibly.

And yes, you can use it for 20-rep dead-
lifts as well as for 20-rep squats. (It would
be especially good for Trap Bar deadlifts.)

And I should also mention - a guy named
John Grimek did something very similar
when he was getting started in his training -
and he did pretty darn darn good!

All in all, it's a really good program - so
be sure to grab the Sept-Oct issue of The
Dinosaur Files and read all about it - and
after you try it for awhile, shoot me an
email and report on your results!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik
