The "What Next?" Question

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've written a ton of books and courses,
and that leads to questions from readers
who say something like:

"I've read Dinosaur Training and I LOVED
it. What should I read next?"

So I thought I'd save myself some time
and answer all of the "What next?" emails
at once.

I currently have five training books and
four training courses available. They all
cover old-school strength training  and
muscle-building, but they focus on different
ways to get there. I'll review the books right
now, and cover the courses in another message.

1. DINOSAUR TRAINING

DINOSAUR TRAINING is my first book. I published
it in 1996, and it became a world-wide sensation
and a huge best-seller. It covers heavy singles,
death sets, training with heavy awkward objects,
grip training, thick bar training, concentration,
visualization, the mental aspects of strength
training, building tendon and ligament strength,
and plenty of Iron Game history. It's fast and
furious, and super-motivating. It's impossible
to read and not want to go out and train!

2. GRAY HAIR AND BLACK IRON

I published GRAY HAIR AND BLACK IRON in 2009.
The sub-tile is SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL STRENGTH
TRAINING FOR OLDER LIFTERS and that sums it up
pretty well. It focuses on "the forgotten man"
(or woman) in the Iron Game -- the older trainee
(anyone over 35 qualifies). It covers everything
an older trainee needs to know (and do) to keep
on training and to get great results from his
training, including simple cycling systems for
older trainees, exercises to avoid, sets and reps
for older lifters, diet and nutrition for older
lifters, cardio training for Iron Heads, and
over 50 workouts designed exclusively for older
trainees from beginners to advanced lifters.

In short, it teaches you how to stay in the game!
It's been widely popular, and is one of my best-
selling books.

And although I wrote it for older lifters, a
number of younger trainees have found it to be
extremely helpful. I sometimes get emails from a
younger guy who read it and tried one of the "old
guy" workouts and found that it bused his you
know what. (Fiendish chuckle from all of the
older Dinos reading this.)

3. STRENGTH, MUSCLE AND POWER

STRENGTH, MUSCLE AND POWER came out in 2010. It
has 29 chapters, covering abbreviated training,
specialization programs, workouts for cellar
dwellers and garage gorillas, finishers, sandbags,
thick bars, unusual grip exercises, tendon and
ligament training, heavy partials, rack work,
rest pause training, ultra-abbreviated workouts,
one exercise workouts, and more.

The book consists of articles I wrote for Milo,
Hardgainer, and the Iron Master -- but I updated
them, and I introduce each of them with a brief
preface to help put them in context. It's an
encyclopedia of super-effective training methods,
and a great read -- and it has tons of great
workouts in it. Another Dino favorite, and
another best seller.

4. CHALK AND SWEAT

I wrote CHALK AND SWEAT because I'm always getting
requests to write up a workout for someone. I can't
do that for everyone -- they're aren't enough hours
in the day.

So I wrote  a book that has 10 different workouts
for beginners -- plus 10 different workouts for
intermediates -- plus 10 workouts for advanced
trainees -- plus 10 leg specialization programs
for building ultimate muscle mass -- and 10 back
specialization programs to build even more strength
and mass. That's 50 workouts, and they can take
a beginner and turn him into a human Hercules.

CHALK AND SWEAT came out in December 2010 and
it's been very popular. I've rec'd many emails
from Dinos who made great gains on one or more
of the CHALK AND SWEAT workouts.

5. DINOSAUR BODYWEIGHT TRAINING

DINOSAUR BODYWEIGHT TRAINING is a revised version
of a course I published in December 2005. The
original version was in a three-ring binder. The
current version is a perfect bound book in 8 1/2
x 11 format.

I wrote DINOSAUR BODYWEIGHT TRAINING as if it were
an old-time physical culture course. There are 12
Lessons (each lesson is one chapter). It covers
everything you need to know about building strength
and muscle with progressively more demanding
bodyweight exercises -- and let me emphasize, this
is NOT the typical high rep stuff you usually see
when people talk about bodyweight training. It's
about working your way from the easier exercises on
up to some truly demanding ones -- which is how you
make bodyweight work an effective strength and
muscle builder.

DINOSAUR BODYWEIGHT TRAINING was a big hit when it
came out in 2005, and it's an even bigger hit now.
Therer are many Dinos who use it for all-bodyweight
workouts, and even more who use it to combine
weight training and bodyweight training.

THE WRAP-UP

That covers my five training books. There's another
one on the way very soon -- DINOSAUR DUMBBELL
TRAINING -- but we'll talk about that in another
message.

Anyhow, that's the answer to the "What next?" question.

As always, thanks for reading and have a great day. If
you train today, make it a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik
