How to Avoid the Ugly Neck-Tie this Year

There's only one way to avoid the ugly neck-tie for Father's Day - and this is how to do it - with detailed, fail-safe instructions.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Tomorrow is the Big Day for many of us.

Father's Day.

The day we always get a painfully ugly
neck-tie for our special present.

Ties with racing stripes.

Ties covered in question marks.

Pink ties with green polka-dots.

Ties that look like birds.

Ties that look like dogs.

Ties that look like fish.

Ties with golf clubs all over them.

Ties with super-heroes on them.

Heck, I knew one guy who got a tie with a
very artistic geometric design - but when
you looked close, the lines were made up
of very tiny silhouettes of naked women.

You had to be very close to see them . . .
but still, it was a very bad tie to wear to
work . . . . or anywhere else.

Anyhow, here's the way to avoid the tie
thing this year.

Put in a special request:

"Honey, I want a special shirt from the
Retro-Strength Shop.

You can order it for me right here:

https://www.retrostrength.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/mockup-51a940e0.jpg

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/dinosaur-training-cover-3-4-sleeve-raglan-shirt/

And if you feel like it, order me another
shirt or two - you pick them - there are
plenty to choose from:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

But before buying anything, sign me up
for the Retro-Strength email list (or you
sign up for it) - and we'll get a special
coupon code by email that gives us 10
percent off any purchase from Retro-
Strength - on any orders thru June 17,
2018 (Father's Day).

Of course, if you'd like something for
yourself, feel free to get it. There are
some shirts for women - and some
shirts featuring some of the greatest
strong-women of all time - and some
Rosie the Riveter coffee mugs - and
some other things you might like.

I know the shirts won't get here in time,
but that's okay - you can buy me a copy
of Brooks' new training course - and the
May-June issue of The Dinosaur Files.

They arrive via email as PDF downloads,
so I'll have them on the Big Day.

The May-June Dinosaur Files

Those would all be great presents -
I'd really like them.

Oh - if you got me a tie already - that's
really sweet of you, but I already have
quite a few of them - maybe we could
save it and give it to your brother next
month - it's his birthday, and I know he
likes colorful neck-ties."

How's that? Think it will work?

Brooks Kubik

John Wood Is Moving at Warp Speed!

If your favorite shirt looks like this, it's time to do some shopping at the Retro Strength Shop.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I sent an email earlier today and
mentioned that there's a bunch of
new Dinosaur Training tee shirts,
hoodies, mugs, posters and other
great stuff at John Wood's Retro
Strength Shop.

I also mentioned that John had a
ton of other great stuff at the
Retro Strength Shop.

Before starting the email, I checked
the Retro Strength Shop to see if
there was anything new.

Nope, nothing new.

So I started typing the email.

I got to the part where I needed to
add a link to the Retro Strength
Shop - so I went back to the site
to copy the link - and took a quick
peek - and BOOM - there it was.

A terrific looking new strongman
coffee mug - featuring one of the
greatest of the old-time strongmen -
a man who may have had the very
strongest grip of ALL of the old-
timers - and that's saying a lot.

Anyhow, that was pretty fast.

Which is why I say that John Wood
is moving at warp speed.

Anyhow, the new mug is here:

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/apollon-mug-0001/

Dinosaur tee shirts here here:

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/dinosaur-training-0001-t-shirt/

Our black hoodies are here (we also
have gray ones):

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/dinosaur-training-0001-hooded-sweatshirt-black/

And a great looking Dinosaur coffee
mug is right here:

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/dinosaur-training-0002-mug/

There's plenty of other fun stuff, but
I'll let you look around and find it on
your own - makes it more fun for you
that way:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

You might want to bookmark the Retro
Strength Shop web page - because at
the speed John is moving, there's going
to be plenty of new stuff coming.

Brooks Kubik

I Goofed - A Quick Correction - Please Read!

The new Dinosaur Training shirts come in all sizes - including Double King Kong Size - which might even have fit Reg Park.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Yesterday I sent an email letting you
know that we are going to be offering
new Dinosaur Training tee shirts, hoodies,
muscle shirts, etc. at John Wood's Retro
Strength Shop.

It should work pretty well.

We have a third-party printer that does
all the printing and fills all the orders.

It's been working great with John's other
shirts at the Retro Strength Shop, and I'm
very excited to be joining him and getting
some great new shirts for you.

Anyhow, in yesterday's email I said that
all orders will be shipped within 24 hours.

Turns out that was a mistake - so let me
correct it right now.

All orders are PRINTED within 24 hours
of the time they are placed.

The orders are SHIPPED within six days
of the day the order is placed.

I'm told, though, that most orders usually
ship within a couple of days.

Anyhow, that's the update and the
correction. Sorry for mistake on my part.

Anyhow . . . . I still think the new tee
shirts are pretty darn exciting.

We've been getting tons of orders so far
so we'll have plenty of Dinos wearing
their new Dinosaur Training shirts very
soon.

If you want to join them, here's the place
to do it:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

Thanks!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Grab Your Dinosaur Training Tee Shirts!

We have some great new Dinosaur Training tee shirts for sale - and believe it or not, they range in size from onesies (for baby Dinos) all the way up to shirts and hoodies big enough for massive Herman Goerner.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've been getting tons of requests for
Dinosaur Training tee-shirts.

I'll cut to the chase - you can get them
here - at the Retro Strength Shop:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

Your order is processed and filled by the
tee-shirt printing company - not by me -
and all orders should be printed and
shipped pronto.

Now here's the back story for those who
wonder why we are doing our shirts this
way - instead of printing them here in
Louisville and shipping them to you
ourselves, as we used to do.

It's a simple question of time and space -
much like Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
We can't keep shirts in stock any more
because we sold our house and downsized
to a small apartment - and there's quite
literally nowhere to put them.

10 or 20 shirts in each of 5 or 6 different
sizes takes up a lot of room - and if you
offer a couple of different colors or styles,
that means you have so many in stock
that storing them here is impossible.

And if we stored them somewhere else,
that means a big storage bill - and added
expense and higher prices for you.

Last year we did a special printing of
shirts with a local printer - which meant
we had to do a pre-sale and take orders
for three or four weeks - and then fill the
orders when all the shirts were printed.

We thought that might be a good way
to do it.

But it wasn't.

You should have seen what the place
looked like when we brought the shirts
over to sort and pack.

They were everywhere - the XL blues were
draped over the sofa, the red shirts were
spread out over the dinner table, the gray
shirts were piled on Trudi's favorite chair -
and so it went.

We were tripping over boxes of shirts and
tip-toeing through narrow aisles between
piles of shirts on the floor.

It was not much fun.

Plus, filling a bunch of orders is a couple
of days of non-stop work - meaning that
I can't do any writing - and Trudi can't do
anything she needs to do.

And to make it worse - we somehow got
an order wrong for six shirts in a variety
of colors and sizes - not sure if it was our
mistake or the printer's mistake - but it
ended up being a huge pain all the way
around.

The bottom line is - we just aren't set up
to do shirts the old way any more.

So we've been looking for an alternative
way of getting shirts to you.

Not long ago, John Wood set up a great
little on-line store for tee shirts, sweat
shirts, coffee mugs, posters and other
fun stuff.

He calls it The Retro Strength Shop.

It works great. The on-line service
handles all the printing and all the
shipping.

It sounded ideal, so I talked with John,
and he's going to carry Dinosaur Training
tee shirts - and other Dino goodies - at
the Retro Strength Shop.

So that's where to go to get your Dino
tee shirts - as well as plenty of other
great swag for fans of old-school iron
slinging, wrestling, boxing, martial arts,
and more!

Here's the link again - for Dinosaur tee
shirts, hoodies, coffee mugs, onesies (for
baby Dinos), and tank tops:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

Plus, John has tons of other great stuff
to grab.

So head on over - take a look - and do
some fast and easy shopping.

Brooks Kubik

New Dinosaur Training T-Shirts - Are You In?

Having fun at Dino Headquarters - and then working on getting some new Dinosaur Training tee-shirts printed - because we've been having a lot of Dinos asking about them.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've been getting a ton of requests for
Dinosaur Training t-shirts lately.

One request came from a longtime Dino -
as in, a guy my age who bought Dinosaur
Training waaaaaaay back in 1996, when
I published the first edition and unleashed
the little monster on an unsuspecting world.

He wants a shirt.

Wants it bad.

But it's not for him.

It's for his new grandson.

He needs a onesie for the new arrival.

Wants to make sure the kid grows up to be
a Dinosaur.

Which, quite frankly, is pretty awesome.

Of course, there are plenty of other guys
and gals who've been asking about shirts.
Right now, we have FOUR small size muscle
tees in stock - black with white letters. If
you want one, shoot me an email.

BUT . . . . here's the good news.

If enough of you are interested, we'll make
arrangements to get some more Dinosaur
Training t-shirts printed.

Including onesies for new arrivals.

If you're interested, shoot me an email and
let me know.

In other news, we were featured in OZY
magazine yesterday. Go here to read the
article - and please share the heck out of
it - and leave a comment in the comments
section:

It's kind of amazing, but Dinosaur Training came out in 1996 - and the little monster is still getting great reviews - including a big review in OZY magazine yesterday.

https://www.ozy.com/good-sht/this-old-school-workout-program-puts-the-hard-in-hard-core/85137

The more comments and the shares
the article gets, the more people it
will reach - and the more new Dinos
we'll have - so pls help spread the
word!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Buried In An Endless Sea of Shirts

Things are super-busy here at Dino Headquarters today, and I'm not even going to be able to get outside and train! That's okay, though - it's all for a good cause - and I'll be able to hit the iron again tomorrow.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I'm late with today's email,
because we are buried in an
endless sea of Dinosaur
Training t-shirts.

We picked them up from the
printer yesterday afternoon,
and we've been packing and
filling orders for them ever
since.

It's funny, because we are in
a small apartment now, and
there are shirts stacked or
draped pretty much every-
where.

Trudi has stacked boxes and
packages for filled orders up
against one wall in the dining
room, and there are so many
that I can barely walk by. I
have to turn to my side and
walk on tippy toes to fit be-
tween the boxes and the
dining room table.

We'll keep on packing orders
for the rest of the day, and
then take all the packages to
the main post office and drop
them off.

I have to say this - the shirts
look and feel great. I'm very
happy with the new design,
and all the different colors,
and how well everything
turned out.

So here's a very big THANK
YOU
to everyone who placed
an order during the big t-shirt
sale.

In other news:

We launched a 2-week special offer

which makes sense because you get
a nice discount on the third shirt.

But one Dino did something we've
never seen before.

He ordered 12 shirts!

Yep, that's right.

Twelve.

An even dozen.

That makes him the Dinosaur T-Shirt

Dinosaur Training T-Shirts

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

As longtime Dinos know, we used to
carry some sharp-looking Dinosaur
Training t-shirts.

Many of you ordered them - and
some of you may still have them.

Many of you wore them for Dino-
style workouts - and I'm told they
were often good for setting a new
PR.

We discontinued t-shirts when we
downsized and moved into a small
apartment last year. We just don't
have any room to store them.

But Trudi had a great idea the
other day.

"Let's do a limited run of new
t-shirts," she said.

"We can put up a sales page and
take orders - find out exactly how
many to print and in what sizes -
have them printed, fill all the
orders and that's that."

I nodded in agreement.

It's a great idea.

A win-win for everyone.

Anyone who wants a t-shirt
can get one - and because it's
a special, limited run, we don't
have to worry about having to
find a place to store a bunch of
t-shirts.

Anyhow, we're going to go ahead
and set it up.

We should be ready to go some-
time in the next 5 to 7 days.

I'll send a link when we're ready
to go.

Remember, this will be a special,
limited run of new t-shirts, so if
you want one (or a couple of
them), take immediate action
and place your order as soon
as you get the link.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Full Circle After 50 Years of Iron

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

John Grimek started his weight training
career by using his older brother's Milo
barbell set.

The barbell was an exercise bar, not an
Olympic bar. It was probably five feet
long and one inch in diamater. The iron
plates were sized to fit the one inch bar.
In other words, it was a lot like the 110
pound barbell sets that so many of us
started training on when we were kids.

But basic and simple as it was, it worked
pretty well.

Grimek gained about 70 pounds in his
first three years of training, and laid
the foundation to become the best built
man of his generation -- as well as one
of the strongest men of his era.

Even today, many believe that Grimek
was the greatest all-natural bodybuilder
of all time.

And it all started with a very basic barbell
set.

It ended the same way.

After Grimek retired from the York Barbell
Company, he set up training quarters at
home, in his basement.

He preferred training at home because it
was quiet. He could concentrate. He wasn't
interrupted by fans and well-wishers. He
didn't have to stop and sign autographs
or answer training questions.

After all, he'd been doing that over 50
years -- and he was entitled to some
quiet, uninterrupted workouts.

He trained with an exercise barbell and a
hodge-podge collection of iron plates. Some
were York plates, some were made by other
manufacturers, and he even had a couple of
Weider plates!

He didn't care whose name was on the plates.
As long as it was iron, it did the job.

He used a set of old-fashioned, self-standing
squat stands. The old York kind. I have a pair.
They work pretty well, but with anything over
300 pounds you need to be darn sure you
don't tip them over.

Grimek also had some dumbbells. Plate-
loading and adjustable. And again, they
were sized for exercise plates.

He did squats and dumbbell presses, and not
much else.  They were his two favorite exercises
at this stage of his career.

And so, after more than 50 years, John Grimek
returned to his roots.

Barbell, basement lifter.

Just like it was when he got started.

And frankly, that's a pretty good way to do
things.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

How Long Should a Workout Take?

3. How Long Should a Workout Take?

I get tons of emails from readers who want
to know how long a workout should take.
They've read about two, three, four and
even five hour workouts -- and about
'"champions" who supposedly train all
day long -- and they wonder how they
can fit all that training into their schedules.

Some trainees even give up and QUIT
because they think they have to train for
several hours in every workout, and they
don't know how they can do it.

It's frustrating, because trainees have been
facing this issue for over 50 years -- and
the answer has been out there for just as
long -- but most trainees still don't get
it.

That's because the good information gets
lost in a sea of bad advice. or nowadays, in
a cyber-sea of bad advice.

And that's why we all need to keep beating
the drum for sane, sensible, effective and
productive strength training and muscle
building.

So let me do exactly that.

Fifty years ago, Bradley J. Steiner, Peary
Rader, Arthur Jones, and a small handful
of other writers told their readers:

1. Long workouts are not necessary.

2. Most trainees actually do better on
shorter workouts.

4. 3. You can get a terrific, result producing
workout in just 45 to 60 minutes.

5. You even can do it in 30 minutes.
6. Or 20 minutes.

7. Of course, you need to make every
minute count.

a. You need to focus on QUALITY in your
training.

b. Focus on the best exercises -- and follow
the best set/rep systems.

c. Train with concentration and focus.

d. Train for strength. Always try to get
stronger. Always work on improving your
performance from workout to workout.

My own workouts take 50 to 75 minutes.
Most of them clock in at right around one
hour.

That's one hour, three times a week.

And it works great.

Give it a try, and see what happens!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. Chalk and Sweat has over 50 terrific
workouts for trainees of all experience levels,
and none of them require you to spend your
life in the gym:

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I want to give you a heads up on a
special, limited time offer for Dinosaur

the year, but so many Dinos have asked

the USA, email me first and let me know
where you live, and we'll calculate your

Four Left -- and Going Fast!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's my birthday, so I was going to
take the rest of the day off, but I
need to give you two quick updates:

1. Hoodies, Sweatshirts, T-shirts and
Muscle Shirts.

We're clearing out all of our current
inventory of sweatshirts, t-shirts,
muscle shirts, and hoodies, and
we're almost completely out of
stock.

We're not going to re-stock for
awhile, so if you want something,
you need to act now.

For example, we have just 4 Gray Hair
and Black Iron sweatshirts -- one XL
and three 3XL. That's it. No other
sizes.

We have very limited numbers of other
items -- and we're out of many sizes
and colors in them.

If you'd like something, send me an
email and ask if we have it in stock
before placing your order.

2. A Chance to Win 5 Free Books!

Carl Lanore, is running a special
contest on SuperHuman Radio this
week and next.

Here's how to enter the contest:

When you listen to SuperHuman Radio,
pay careful attention at the commercial
breaks.

During one of the commercial breaks
in each hour of the show, Carl will
announce the secret word.

He'll do this on each show.

When you hear it, you send Carl an email
identifying the secret word -- and that
enters you in the contest.

Note: Do NOT send me an email with the
secret word. Send it to Carl. He'll give you
the email address on air.

Carl will draw the winner's name at the
end of next week.

There will be one winner and one winner
only -- and the prize will be pretty darn
good.

How good?

Get this . . .

The prize is an autographed set of all
five of my Legacy of Iron books, starting
with this little monster:

http://www.brookskubik.com/legacy_of_iron.html

With shipping and handling, that has a
retail value of something like 150 clams.
Plus, they're darn good books. Readers
love them.

I'll be on Physical Culture Radio at
12:00 noon EST tomorrow, so you
can listen to the show and learn
the secret word then:

http://superhumanradio.com/

Thanks for reading, and remember -- if
you want a shirt, hoodie or sweatshirt,
send an email asap and see if we have
your size in stock.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
