Have a Great Weekend, Everyone!

Wherever you are, I hope you've been having a great weekend full of sun, fresh air, good fun, great company and some terrific workouts!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I hope everyone is having a very happy
Memorial Day weekend here in the USA -
and a very happy weekend wherever you
may be as you read this.

I also hope you're getting some sun and
fresh air, eating plenty of good food, and
doing some hard and fun training.

Here at Dino Headquarters, we've been
having a lot of fun - working on a big
project - working on the May issue of
The Dinosaur Files strength training
newsletter - and having some great
workouts with a pair of terrific dumb-
bells that a friend put together for me.

He has a lot of old York equipment,
including lots of collars, and he used
them to put together the best set of
adjustable dumbbell handles I've ever
seen.

My new dumbbells look just like the ones in this advertisement for a York Big 10 Special - and they feel great - perfect balance - solid, rugged and totally old-school.

They look just like the old dumbbells
that Bob Hoffman used to sell - the
ones that John Grimek is using in all
the photos you see in the old issues of
Strength and Health.

They're a link to the past - and they
work great - and feel perfect for any
exercise i do with them.

So I've been having a very, very good
time in my workouts.

Lots of sweat and lots of fun.

Anyhow, as I said, I hope YOU have
been having a great weekend - and
I hope that today is another good
one for you.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

The Mail Truck Caught on Fire!

I've been running a mail order business (now mostly an internet order business) for over 20 years, and this is the first time it ever happened - but as they say, there's a first time for everything.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

We shipped an order to one of our
Dinos in south Florida last week - and
the package still hasn't gotten there
even though we shot it out the door
by USPS Priority Mail.

According to our Endicia tracking
system, the package was "en route
to its destination."

And that's all the tracking said.

For a very long time.

Which sounded like it was not en
route.

And we weren't sure what was up.

And then we learned that a mail
truck had caught on fire some-
where around Gainesville.

Was our package on the truck?

We don't know.

But today - finally - the tracking
system shows that the package
been delayed - and that it would
be late - but that it had processed
through the USPS facility in Opa
Laka and was heading toward its
destination.

So perhaps the fire had something
to do with it.

Anyhow, since it's the Holiday Season
and lots of people are placing Christmas
orders, I thought I'd mention this - and
urge everyone to place their orders as
early as possible.

We want everyone to have a Dino
book or course of their choice (or
a couple of them) under the tree
on Christmas morning - and you
can help us make it happen by
getting your orders in right away.

Because sometimes, no matter
how hard we try, Life throws us a
curve-ball - or a USPS mail truck
with some Dino books on board
inexplicably catches fire . . .

Anyhow, please get your orders
in - it will help us get them to
you as fast as possible!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Attack of the Killer Spiders!

I've been off line for a couple of days - and here's the reason why.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've been off line for several days,
and missed most of the post Turkey
Day shopping frenzy.

But I have a good excuse.

I've been bad sick.

We think it was a spider bite - on my
right ear.

I don't remember being bit - but my
right ear swelled up like a big red
balloon on Friday night - and I had
all the symptoms of a spider bite:
fever, sweating, shivering, headache,
sore joints, and a general "got hit by
a truck" feeling.

But my right ear was the worst part
of it by far.

My right ear has always been a little
bit thick and mangled from my high
school wrestling days. It's not a true
cauliflower ear, but it's definitely been
through some battles.

But when it swelled up, it went right
into full cauliflower mode.

So what hundreds of wrestlers my size
weren't able to do over a period of six
years of junior high school and high
school wrestling, a wee little spider
did in about one second.

And he probably didn't work up a
sweat doing it.

I ended up in the urgent care center
on Saturday. The doc checked me out
and put me on some heavy duty anti-
biotics.

And then I spent most of Saturday
and Sunday resting and sleeping.

Trudi has been serving me tons of
high nutrition, anti-inflammatory foods
to help the healing process - along
with plenty of anti-inflammatory green
tea with lemon juice, fresh grated
ginger, and cinnamon.

It's all helping, and I'm feeling better
today. Nowhere near 100 percent, but
better. And my ear is starting to shrink
back down to its regular size.

Anyhow, I thought I'd update you and
let you know why I've been off-line.
Of course, we're still open for business,
and you can grab any of my books and
courses right here at Dino Headquarters:

Hard-copy and PDF

http://www.brookskubik.com/products.html

Kindle

http://www.brookskubik.com/kindle.html

I'm also selling back issues of Strength and
Health magazine from the 1930's through
the1980's. If you're interested in a particular
year, shoot me an email and let me know
what you'd like - where we'll be shipping
them - and how you prefer to pay for the
mags.

12 issue sets from the 1930's are $120 plus
shipping and handling.

12 issue sets from the 1940's forward are
$100 plus shipping and handling.

And that's the report. I hope YOU are doing
better than I am today - and I hope that
neither of us ever has another run-in with
one of those killer spiders.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

BEFORE YOU LEAVE . . .

We have more than 25 Dinosaur Training books and courses in the Kindle bookstore - here are several of them - head on over and take a look at the others:

"Are You Moving or Something?" He Asked

Hitting it hard in the outdoor training center at the new Dino Dungeon. The weights go with me no matter where we go.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Several readers have asked:

"What's happening at Dino Head-
quarters?

You're selling a bunch of stuff - and
discontinuing some products like
certain books and your DVD's.

Are you and Trudi moving or some-
thing?

You're not going to give up the Dino
business, are you?"

The answer is, yes, we are - and no,
I'm not!

Trudi and I have both lived here in
Louisville for a very long time. We
want to go somewhere new and
different and beautiful for our
later years. Perhaps Washington
or Oregon - we like the country
up there.

Several years ago, after the kids had
all moved out, we found ourselves in
a very big and very empty house.

So we sold it and downsized to a much
more manageable two-bedroom duplex
about 1/2 a mile away from where we
used to live.

That was step one in the plan.

We got rid of a ton of stuff in the big
move - but I still have much, much
more that I need to sell before we
can even think about heading out
to the Pacific Northwest.

I have a room full of old strength
training books, courses, and
magazines, and I can't take them
all with me - so I am trying to find
homes for them with the Dinos.

We have hundreds of old strength training magazines, books and courses for sale - and I need to sell them before we can move.

I could always sell them on eBay,
but I really want them to go to
Dinos - so I'm trying to give the
Dinos the first chance to grab
them.

That's why I've been sending you
emails offering various books,
courses or magazines for sale.

It's also why we're discontinuing
some books and other products.

We need to work with a small
inventory so we can move the
business out west when the
time is right - and so we can
move around easily once we
get out there.

For example, we've sold all of
our copies of Black Iron: The
John Davis Story - and we're
not going to reprint it.

We're getting near the end of
the last printing for Strength,
Muscle and Power, and we're
not going to reprint that,
either. So if you want a
copy, grab it now:

http://www.brookskubik.com/strength_muscle_power.html

And we've discontinued our old
DVD's. I have a few left - which
I've been offering for sale on a
first come, first served basis -
but that's it. (If you want to
know what we have left, shoot
me an email.)

I am NOT going to retire and stop
running the Dino business. I plan
to keep on doing it for a very long
time. We just need to operate in
as portable a fashion as possible.

Anyhow, that's the answer to a
question that many of you have
been asking.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

another - but I can't prove it.

Anyhow, we do several things to
try to keep our emails coming

2. Tommy Kono

As I noted last week, Tommy Kono is
very ill, and may not be with us much
longer. If you'd like to send him a card

him for everything he has done for the
Iron Game, send it to me and I will
forward it to Tommy.

Mail it to me at this address:

We've had a terrific response so far --
but please step up and take action if
you have not already done so. I know
it will mean a great deal to Tommy.

3. Follow Me on Instagram, Facebook
and Twitter!

I'm posting some great photos and video
on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Be
sure to follow me and join the fun. And
hit the LIKE and SHARE buttons as much

4. Dinosaur Training DVD's

I still carry my Dinosaur Training DVD's
and my Bodyweight Training DVD's -- but
I've also let John Wood upload them at
his member site, The Iron League. Of course,
there's a ton of other great stuff at The Iron
League  -- including some things that are so
rare that I've never seen them anywhere
else -- or even knew they existed. And that's
saying a lot, because I've been collecting Iron
Game books, courses and magazines for close
to 50 years, and I thought I had "seen it all."
Go here to join up:

5. Dinosaur Training Seminars

Are you interested in attending a Dinosaur
Training seminar here in Louisville?

Are you a gym owner -- and would you like
to host a Dinosaur Training seminar?

If the answer to either question is "Yes!" then
shoot me an email. If there's enough interest,
we can make start doing some seminars this
year.

The Wrap-Up

There's more to cover, but that's enough for
now. As always, thanks for reading and have
a great day. If you train today, make it a good
one!

Lessons from Marcel

Our beloved Marcel.  The best cat ever.  Everyone who knew him loved him.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I missed my daily email yesterday,
but I have a good excuse.

We had a death in the family.

Yesterday we lost our beloved Marcel,
a wonderful, active, adventurous, gray
cat who had been with us for ten
glorious, fun-filled years.

Marcel had the best life of any cat who
ever lived -- and it was an adventurous
life. He was an indoor and outdoor cat,
living in a house on a hill with a big
yard, a maze of garden boxes, a
mulberry tree to climb, and endless
birds, squirrels, and small critters to
chase.

The squirrels loved him. When he lay on
the railing on the back porch, the squirrels
would lie on the fence posts and mimic the
way he lay there, face down, with his four
legs dangling down.

It happened so often that we called him
"The Squirrel God."

When he was a small kitten, our daughter
kept him on a long leash when he went out.
He made a beeline for the magnolia tree,
and climbed up as high as he could. He
loved climbing. But climbing with a leash
around your neck can be dangerous, so
we let him off his leash.

Five minutes later I saw a tiny kitten
sitting on top of the neighbor's garage,
surveying what was to become his un-
disputed domain for the next 10 years.

Not long after, our daughter went off to
college, and Trudi and I became Marcel's
new parents. He wasn't sure we would do
a good job for him, so he ran away.

We searched everywhere, put up signs,
made calls, and paid the kids in the
neighborhood to try to find him.

Several days passed -- and there was no
sign of Marcel.

And then, while little Marcel was still out
there -- somewhere -- Louisville was hit
by a terrible storm with hurricane force
winds -- the remnants of a hurricane that
roared out of the Gulf of Mexico and into
Texas.

Trees were toppling everywhere -- branches
and wires were coming down -- and everyone
stayed in their basement, huddling in the
dark with their loved ones.

After the storm, Trudi got a call on her cell
phone.

A family several blocks away had found
Marcel. We raced over to get him -- passing
a dozen or more downed trees along the way.

When we got there, they told us the story.
When the storm hit, the little kitten did what
he thought was the safest thing.

He climbed a tree in their back yard.

And there he was for the entire storm, holding
on for dear life, 30 feet above the ground -- in
a hurricane. The family saw him, but there was
nothing they could do to help him. He had to
do it on his own. And he did.

After the storm had passed, the little kitten
climbed down the tree and stepped with
waery, wobbly legs onto the wet, green
grass.

Trudi wrapped him in an old sweater and
carried him home, holding him close. And
as you can guess, Marcel got a very big
dinner that night.

That was our Marcel. He was fearless. He
was an adventurer. He always loved
to climb as high as he could climb -- and
to spend long hours sitting with the sun and
wind on his face, watching what happened
below.

His favorite spot in the entire world was
the deck outside a third story apartment
in a house on the hill above us.

He would climb up the wooden steps and
sit and see for miles.

I learned many things from Marcel. You
always learn important things from a
special pet.

This is what Marcel taught me:

"Live every day to the fullest. Make time to
sit in the sun and the wind. Always look for
the high ground.  Enjoy the far horizon,
and make everything you see your
own special kingdom."

And there was another important lesson:

"If you're caught in a tall tree in a
hurricane, hold on tight -- and enjoy
the adventure!"

Marcel is gone, but he's enjoying a new
adventure. He can fly now -- and I know
it's something he always wanted to do.
His spirit is free and unfettered.

Goodbye, Marcel. Thank you for the years of
love and laughter -- for the memories -- and
for the lessons you shared with us.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. Of course, my next workout will be extra
hard and heavy to honor Marcel. Please join me
and do the same. He'll appreciate it.

P.S. 2. Carl Lanore graciously agreed to let
me share Marcel's story on yesterday's
episode of Physical Culture Radio. Here's
the libnk to the download:

Attn Dinos -- It's That Time of Year Again!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's that time of the year again.

Christmas is right around the
corner, and we're working fast
and furious to fill all of the
orders we receive and get
them out the door and in
the mail in time for the big
day.

You can help us by doing
three things:

1. Get your orders in as soon
as you can -- today or tomorrow
if possible.

2. If you place a Christmas
order for someone else, give
us their name so we can include
a personal note for them.

a. If you order a book or course
for someone, be sure to give me
their name so I can sign it for
them. That always makes a
present extra special.

3. If someone else is going to
order something for you, be sure
they give us YOUR name so we can
autograph it for you if it's a book
or course, or include a note for you
if it's anything else.

There's no charge for an autograph.
It's an honor to be asked for one.

Thanks very much, and if you have
any questions, send me an email.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. You'll find all of our Dinosaur
Training books, courses and DVDs
right here at Dino Headquarters:

Here It Is -- The New Dinosaur Training Course!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

As promised, we have somehting new
and exciting for you.

It's something we've never done before,
but it's something I think you're REALLY
going to like -- and it's something that
can save you lots of clams on shipping
and handling, particularly if you're
one of our many overseas Dinos.

It's a brand new Dinosaur Training mini-
course -- and it's available as a PDF,
with immediate delivery.

It's not available in hard copy or as a
Kindle e-book. It's only available as
a PDF. (But you can print it out, so
it's the same as a hard copy course.)

Here's how it works . . .

When you order the little monster, you
get an email with a link to the PDF file.
You click the PDF link, and there it is,
ready to read.

And THEN -- print yourself a copy of
the course. And save the copy. Start
a notebook of them.

It's important to print a copy, because
the link expires in 24 hours.

The first course covers sensible and
effective strength training for older
Dinos, and contains a terrific training
program for older Dinos.

I chose that topic because I get so
many questions about it -- and because
older Dinos tend to be overlooked and
ignored by everyone else. Virtually all
of the training advice out there is for
the young guys -- and it largely
ignores the needs of older trainees.

And although I call it a mini-course,
it weighs in at a whopping 26 pages.
With photos, even.

So it's actually a pretty good-sized
course -- and it's all new material --
and it's available with immediate
delivery -- and there's no shipping
charge.

And get this -- the little monster
runs just five clams.

That's less than the cost of a grande
mocha frappacino with chocolate
sprinkles, whipped cream and a
cherry.

If this is a hit (and I think it will be),
we'll do more of them. We may price
them a bit higher depending on the
length, the topic, and how long it
takes to prepare the little monsters.

But right now, you have a great
little course waiting for you -- for
five little wampum beads.

Go here to grab it:

http://www.brookskubik.com/minicourse_01.html

Thanks in advance to everyone who
steps up and takes action -- and be
sure to let me know how you like the
course!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. Remember to print and save a hard
copy of the course!

"Whaddaya Think About It? He Asked

Double rope pull-ups - one of the many unique and effective exercises in Dinosaur Bodyweight Training.
          http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur_bodyweight.html

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Two quick notes and then we'll talk
training.

1. Something New Is Coming!

We have something new for you, and
we're trying to launch it today -- but
we're running into some technical
snafus.

We're working at double warp speed
to get everything ready to go -- but it
may take another 24 hours or so. Not
sure.

Anyhow  . . .

Be looking for the big announcement
later today or tomorrow, as soon as
we get everything sorted out. And as
I mentioned before, I think you are
REALLY going to like this.

2. Our Daily Emails

We're pruning our email list, and that
may knock a couple longtime Dinos off
the list by accident. If you don't get any
of my daily emails tomorrow or Wednesday,
shoot me an email and we'll double-check
to be sure you are on the list -- and if not,
we'll put you back on.

3. The "Whaddaya Think About It?"
Question

I get a lot of "whaddaya think about"
questions.

"Whaddaya think about [fill in the box
with the name of any book, course,
training system, workout, supplement,
trainer, coach, or piece of equipment
that you can imagine]."

Whatever it is, someone wants to know
"Whaddaya think about it?"

The answer is almost always the same.

Answer: "I don't. I think about old-
fashioned, Dino style strength training.
And you should do the same."

In other words, don't waste your time
and your energy reading and worrying
about the silly stuff. Keep your focus
on what works.

Of course, sometimes the question is
about something that might actually
work for someone. For example,
"What do you think about doing
squats one week and deadlifts the
next week?"

Or, "What do you think about switching
from 5 x 5 to 10/8/6/4/2?"

Or, "What do you think about doing
deadlifts on a two-inch riser?"

Or, "What do you think about doing
body rows instead of barbell bent-
over rowing?"

Or perhaps, "What do you think about
doing weight training once a week
and bodyweight training twice a
week?"

The answer to THAT type of question
is something like this:

"I've never done that, but it's worked
well for other Dinos. Why don't you
try it and see what happens? Shoot
me an email and let me know how
it works for you."

Or:

"I tried it once and it worked well for
me. Give it a try and see if it works
for you. Keep me posted on your
results."

Or:

"I tried that, and it didn't work very
well for me. But it's worked well for
other Dinos. Give it a try and see if it
works for you. Let me know what
happens."

Notice the pattern?

If something is worth trying, the answer
is to DO IT and see what happens. If it
works for you, that's great. You've added
another arrow to your quiver.

If it doesn't work for you, that's okay. You
gave it a try, you learned something about
your body and how it responds to different
things, and you can use that knowledge to
move forward and make progress.

Remember, the key is DOING something.
Testing it. Giving it a try. And doing so with
total concentration, full focus and intense
effort.

As long as it's not goofball stuff (and most
of the stuff out there is goofball stuff), feel
free to give it a try and see what happens.
That's the only way to know.

As always, thanks for reading and have a
great day. If you train today, make it a
good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

A Halloween Treat for Dinosaurs!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's Halloween, and that means that "Trick
or treat!" is the phrase of the day.

So I wanted to update you on a special
treat we are preparing for the Dino Nation.

We had hoped to announce it on Friday,
but we're going to have to wait until
Monday.

It's new and different -- and it's something
we've never done before.

It's also something that many of you have
been asking about. It's definitely something
that you want us to do.

And I think you're really going to like it.

There's still a bit more work to do to get
everything finished and ready to go. But
Monday is the BIG DAY -- so be looking
for my email on Monday -- and be ready
to take immediate action!

In the meantime, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Make it a good one -- a fun one -- and
a safe one.

And if you train today or tomorrow, make
that a good one, too!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Special Bonuses for Dinos!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

When I first published Dinosaur Training
in 1996, I signed and numbered every
copy of the first edition -- which was
about 3300 copies.

That was a lot of work, but it was the
right thing to do.

It was a way to say THANK YOU to
everyone who purchased a copy.

Today, almost 20 years later, we still
like to give special bonuses to our
Dinos -- and it's still our way of
saying THANK YOU.

If you order a a hard-copy book or
course from us, always look for the
bonus. Depending on what you order,
you'll find a special bulletin, a photo,
a letter or a even a handwritten note
on one of our special Dinosaur Training
cards (which Trudi designed for me).

If you order a book (as opposed to a
course), I'll try to sign it for you.

If you ASK for an autograph, and tell
me who to sign it to (James or Jim,
Mike or Michael, etc.), I'll sign your
book or course with a personal note.

Make your request in the Special
Instructions section of the on-line
order form. If you send a separate
email, we may miss it.

There's no charge for this. It's just the
right thing to do.

If someone else ever orders a book
or course for you, be sure they know
that they should ask for a personalized
autograph for you. That's especially
important if it's a birthday, anniversary,
or Christmas gift. We always like to make
the gift orders extra special.

We also do a special bonus for Dinos
who purchase our e-books. In that case,
the bonus is a special update chapter. We
just released special update chapters for
the following e-books:

1. Dinosaur Training Secrets, Vol. 1.
"Exercises, Workouts and Training
Programs"

http://brookskubik.com/dinosaursecrets01_kindle.html

2. Dinosaur Training Secrets, Vol. 2,
"How Strong Are You?"

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur_secrets2_kindle.html

3. Dinosaur Training Secrets, Vol. 3,
"How to Use Old-School Progression
Methods for Fast and Steady Gains in
Strength, Muscle and Power"

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur_secrets3_kindle.html

If you ordered one of these, you should
have rec'd -- or you should soon receive --
an email from Amazon telling you that the
update is available. Please shoot me an email
and let me know when you receive your
update notice from Amazon.

We'll be updating our other Kindle e-books
from time to time in the future. And when
we do, you'll get a notice from Amazon
letting you know that the update is
available.

In other news, the June issue of the
Dinosaur Files Quarterly is just about
ready to print. I'll send an email with a
link to let you order the little monster
very soon, so be looking for it.

And now, it's time to go kill some iron --
and then it's going to be time for some
steak and salad.

Have a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Brooks and Bill Talk Iron!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I wanted to give you three quick updates.

1.The Dinosaur Files Quarterly

We're finishing up the June 2015 issue
of The Dinosaur Files Quarterly.  It's going
to be a great issue, especially for:

Dumbbell Training fans

Stone lifting fans (or anyone who just wants
a real-world, no-nonsense, take no prisoners
sort of workout -- or a couple of them)

George Jowett fans

Olympic lifting fans

Fans of old-school strength training

Anyone who wants to drop 30 pounds and
get stronger while doing it

Anyone interested in Iron Game history

Anyhow, be looking for the big announcement
when we release the little monster. It won't be
long.

2. An Interview with Bill Kociaba

Here's a link to a terrific interview I did with fellow
Dinosaur Bill Kociaba. I think you'll enjoy it:

http://kociaba-fitness.com/blog_an_interview_with_brooks_kubik

And here's a link to a follow-up interview we
did:

http://kociaba-fitness.com/blog_chatting_with_brooks_kubik_on_his_latest_project

Bill has had an all-star line-up of guests for
his podcast interviews, including Bill Pearl,
Dan John, Clarence Bass, Steve Maxwell and
others, so head on over and browse a bit. I'm
sure you'll find lots of great interviews.

3. Read and Rank the Reviews!

My first Kindle e-book was Dinosaur Training
Secrets, Vol. 1, Exercises, Workouts and Training
Programs.

The little monster currently has over 50 reviews
at our Kindle page. Head on over and take a
look -- and rank the reviews. Let us know which
reviews are the most helpful to you.

And of course, feel free to grab a copy of the
little monster -- and to post a review of your
own. We're gunning for 100 reviews as fast as
possible.

Here's the link:

http://brookskubik.com/dinosaursecrets01_kindle.html

And before I forget -- let me give a Dino-sized
THANK YOU to everyone who posted a review --
or who posts one in the future. The reviews
really help us.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. We also need more reviews for all of other
e-books, and we need Dinos to rank the reviews --
so please post a review for any of our e-books
that you've read. If you're an Amazon customer,
you can post a review of the e-book if you read
the hard-copy version. You can find links to our
e-books right here:

P.S. 2. Thought for the Day: "Train hard, and
train smart -- and never stop learning. Life's
too short to stop learning." -- Brooks Kubik

*****************************************************

Look for Your Captain Midnight De-Coder Ring!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

1934 was a pretty good year.

The Columbia Lions upset Stanford 7-0 to win
the Rose Bowl.

Max Baer beat Primo Carnera to win the Heavy-
weight boxing championship -- setting up the
big "Cinderella Story" fight in 1935 with Jim
Braddock.

The St. Louis Cardinals "Gashouse Gang" beat
the Detroit Tigers to win an epic seven-game
World Series.

Bill Good won the Heavyweight class at the
1934 Senior Nationals, with a new record
in the clean and jerk of 324 pounds.

But best of all, the Ovaltine Co. sponsored
the Little Orphan Annie radio show -- and
gave a special handbook to all of the fan
members of the show -- and the handbook
included a secret code.

The next year, the Ovaltine Co. offered a
secret badge with a de-coder -- and a few
years later, the Captain Midnight radio
show took it to the next and greatest level
by offering a secret de-coder ring to all of
Captain Midnight's loyal listeners.

That was the same year that John Davis
shocked the world by winning the world
weightlifting championship at age 17 --
and who knows, he may have carried
one of those de-coder rings when he
made the trip to Vienna to compete in
the world championships.

Today, we're doing our best to carry on
that proud tradition.

We don't hand out Dinosaur de-coder rings,
but we include lots of other fun stuff when
we fill your orders for hard-copy books,
courses, the Dinosaur Files Quarterly,
shirts, CDs or DVDs.

I always try to include a letter or a card
(or both), or a photo or mini-poster.

If we have time, I try to sign your book
for you. (Not courses, unless you ask,
but books.)

And, of course, if you want me to sign a
book or course and include a personalized
message, all you need to do is ask -- and
let me know whether to sign it to "Jim" or
"James" or whatever name you prefer.

Use the Special Instructions section of the
on-line order form when you ask for a
special autographed message.

There's no charge for an autograph. We do
it because it's the right thing to do.

So when you get your next envelope or
package from Dino headquarters, look
inside for the special bonus. You'll always
find one.

As always, thanks for reading and have a
great day. If you train today, make it a
good one.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. I'm pounding away on the June issue of
the Dinosaur Files Quarterly. If you missed the
December 2014 issue or the March 2015 issue
of the Quarterly, grab them here:

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaurfiles_quarterly.html

P.S. 2. If you prefer Kindle e-books, we've
released the December 2014 issue of the
Dinosaur Files Quarterly on Kindle:

Coming Soon -- Dinosaur Training Secrets, Vol. 3!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I wanted to give you a special heads up on
something new and exciting for the Dino
Nation.

Synchronize your watches and get set to take
action:

1. The time is 9:00 in the morning (Eastern
Standard Time).

2. The day is Wednesday, May 27, 2015.

3. The place is wherever you are when you
receive my email message on Wednesday
morning.

We're going to be releasing course no. 3 in my
new series of Dinosaur Training courses. Most of
you already have course no. 1 and course no. 2
in the series, and based on your emails and your
reviews on our Amazon Kindle pages, you're
loving them.

And I think you're going to feel the same about
course no. 3 in the series.

I like writing the courses in this series because they
allow me to focus on some very important issues
that will make a huge difference in your training --
and in the results you get from your training.

They also allow me to pull together everything
I've learned during my almost 50 years in the
Iron Game -- and to give you my latest thoughts,
new discoveries, changes in my thinking, and the
reasons for those changes.

Course No. 3 covers a critical topic for all serious
trainees: progression systems that allow you to
make fast and steady progress without burning
out, going stale, over-training or hitting a plateau
or a sticking point that seems to hold you up
forever.

It's a topic that readers around the world ask me
about literally ALL THE TIME. Heck, as I was
working on the course yesterday afternoon I
received an email from a reader who had followed
the WRONG kind of progression system and
worked himself into a severe case of over-training
in just a few short weeks. He said this happened
over and over, and he didn't know what to do to
stop it.

I'll share his email tomorrow. Many of you --
perhaps most of you -- will identify with him.

He reminds me of ME many years ago -- before
I learned some of the things I'm going to share
in the new course.

Interestingly, I had just finished a chapter that
gave him the exact answer he needed -- an answer
that came from (get this) an UNPUBLISHED book
written around 1940 by one of the greatest Iron
Game authors of all time.

It's something that I didn't learn about until
very recently -- but it's something that may
be one of the most important and most
beneficial pieces of information that I ever
found.

It's solid gold from the old Iron Mines -- and
it's exactly what our reader needs to do to
get back on track and to start making fast
and steady gains -- and to avoid what no
less an authority than the legendary Arthur
Saxon called "the bugbear of training." (He
was referring to the phenomenon of "going
stale" -- or as we call it, "burning out" or
over-training.)

And that's just one chapter. There's a whole
lot more.

The course gives you a variety of old-school
progression systems for fast and steady gains
in strength and muscular development.

It covers the best and most effective systems for
beginners -- and then offers a variety of different
progression systems for intermediates and advanced
trainees.

It gives you concrete examples ands step by step
instruction, plenty of actual workouts, and enough
different approaches so that everyone who reads
it will be able to fashion his or her very best
PERSONALIZED progression program.

That's important, because we're all different, and
we all have different goals, needs and training
preferences -- and our bodies are different and
respond differently to our training. A one-size-
fits-all approach doesn't work. That's why I'm
giving you a variety of options -- so you can
choose the one best suited to YOU and to
YOUR needs.

As you can see, I'm very excited about the
new course -- and I think it's going to be one
of our most popular courses.

So, as I said at the beginning, synchronize
your watches -- and be ready to take action
at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

As always, thanks for reading, and have a
great day. If you train today, make it a good
one.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. As with courses no. 1 and no. 2 in the
series, the new course will be avilable in your
choice of hard-copy or Kindle e-book.

Big Announcement on Monday!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've been pounding the keyboard like a
madman to finish a special project that
I've wanted to do for several years.

It's new, different and very exciting --
and I think you're really going to like
it.

For right now, the details are top secret --
other than me, only Trudi knows about it,
and she's not telling.

But I'll give you more information on
Monday.

Be sure to look for it -- and if you don't see
an email, look for me on FaceBook -- or
go straight to the Dinosaur Training Blog
and look there. I always post my emails
on the Blog, so if you miss an email, you
can find it on the Blog.

Access the Blog by going to the Dinosaur
Training website, and looking for the
drop down bar.  The button for the Blog
is to the right.

Or -- just follow this link:

http://www.dinosaurtraining.blogspot.com/

I post the emails on the Blog because emails
don't always get through. The cyber gremlins
seem to like to gobble them up sometimes. So
I post them on the Blog as a back-up.

I also link the Blog to our Facebook page. If
you friend me on facebook, you can always
see the daily link to the Blog via Facebook.

In any case, there's going to be a BIG
announcement on Monday. Be sure to
look for it.

And now -- back to work. I have a lot to
do between now and Monday morning.

As always, thanks for reading and have a
great day. If you train today, make it a
good one.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. The best sellers for the week are all
available in your choice of Kindle e-book or
hard copy.

In the Mail -- The New Quarterly Dinosaur Files!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I want to thank everyone who has ordered
issue no. 1 of the new quarterly Dinosaur
Files.

The little monster was printed on Friday,
and we worked late to get most of them
into their envelopes and out the door
before the main post office closed at
9:00.

There are still some more to pack and
ship today, and we're working on that.

Most of today's packing and shipping is
for Dinos who ordered a book or course
with their issue of the Dinosaur Files.
Those take a little longer to fill. But
they'll all go out today or first thing
on Monday morning.

If you asked us to ship the Dinosaur Files
with Knife, Fork, Muscle, we should be
able to ship them next week or very
early the following week. Knife, Fork,
Muscle was printed on Friday, and is
scheduled to be shipped to us on Mon
or Tuesday, so we'll have them very,
very soon.

In any event, readers who live close to
Louisville may receive their Dinosaur
Files today -- and many of the rest of
you will receive your issue on Monday
or Tuesday. Pls shoot me an email when
your issue arrives, just to let us know
how long it takes to get to you.

After you read the first issue of the
new quarterly Dinosaur Files,  please
drop me a line and let me know how
you like it -- and how you like the
certificate of membership in the
American Strength and Health
League that you will be getting
as a special bonus -- and as our
way of saying THANK YOU for
your loyalty and your support.

And please let me know if there's
anything we can do to improve the
quarterly Dinosaur Files. I'm the
editor and the publisher, but it's
YOUR magazine -- so let me hear
what YOU want to see in it!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. We have plenty of extra copies
of issue no. 1 of the new quarterly
Dinosaur Files -- as well as the certificate
of membership in the American Strength
and Health League -- so there's still
plenty of time to grab a copy:

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaurfiles_quarterly.html

P.S. 2. If you want to order issue no. 1
of the new quarterly Dinosaur Files and
any other book, course or other Dinosaur
Training product, shoot me an email and
ask for a shipping quote. We can usually
save you some serious wampum by
combining orders.

P.S. 3. My other books, courses, DVD's,
t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies are
right here:

http://www.brookskubik.com/products.html

live in the present, lift for the future."

*************************************************

A Remarkable Coincidence!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Life is full of interesting things.

Some of them are almost uncanny.

They come under the "Strange But True"
category.

Here's something that happened this
week at Dino Headquarters.

I was sitting at the dining room table,
writing Thank You notes to everyone
who reserved a copy of Knife, Fork,
Muscle during the big pre-publication
special for the little monster.

We clip the Thank You notes to the
order sheets, so when the books get
here -- which should be sometime next
week, since they were printed yesterday --
we can easily match the note and the
order.

Anyhow, there are a lot of orders, and
there have been a lot of Thank You notes
to write.

So there I was, writing more Thank You
notes.

I picked one up.

Trudi had made a big notation on the order
form.

It was order number 1 for Knife, Fork,
Muscle.

That means, it's the very first order we're
going to fill -- and I'm going to sign the
book and flag it as copy no. 1.

It might be a collector's item someday.
Worth big wampum.

And it goes to one of our long-time
Dinos -- and to someone who's been
tossing the iron for many years. So
it's going to a good home.

Anyhow . . .

I started to write the Thank You note for
the man who placed the very first order --
and as I was writing it, I heard a loud

THUD

on the front porch.

So I went out to see what was up.

There was a package on the front porch.

And a UPS truck was already zooming
away.

I bent down and leaned forward -- and
picked it up -- read the label -- took it
inside -- and cut it open with a pocket
knife.

I reached inside the package, and pulled
something out, and laid it on the table.

It was the very first copy of Knife, Fork,
Muscle.

The printing company always sends one
copy that you need to review and approve
before they print the rest of the books.

This was that one copy.

The first copy.

And it was delivered at exactly the moment
that I was writing a Thank You note to the
lucky Dino who placed the very first order.

It was one of those times when truth is
stranger than fiction -- but that's exactly
how it happened.

Hopefully, it's a good sign for Knife, Fork,
Muscle. Maybe lots of readers will think
it's the number 1 book on diet and nutrition
that they've ever read. That would be pretty
good.

In any case, we have the very first copy of
the book -- and it looks great -- and the rest
of them should be arriving sometime next
week -- and that means we're going to go
into super shipping mode to get them right
out the door to you.

So it's going to be a very busy week -- and
that's GREAT!

And that's the report from Dino Headquarters.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day. If
you train today, make it a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. You can't have the first copy of Knife, Fork,
Muscle -- that one's taken -- but you CAN have
a copy from the first printing. Go here to reserve
your copy now:

issue of the new quarterly Dinosaur Files -- are

old-school barbell training, you can't be first, but
you can be part of a long, grand and glorious
tradition -- and that's a very good thing."
