587 Pounds of Books and Magazines

Last month we sold 587 pounds of books and magazines - including many rare issues of Strength and Health, IronMan and other classic magazines.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Last month we sold 587 pounds of books
and magazines.

I know, because we pay by weight to ship
them.

We sent two big shipments of old books
and magazines to two different collectors.

A pallet load to each one.

We sold the very last copy of Strength, Muscle and Power last month - and we're not doing another printing any time soon. Keep reading and I'll explain why.

Plus, we completely sold out of Strength,
Muscle and Power.

And we filled tons of smaller orders.

I have a huge Iron Game library, with
tons of duplicates, and I'm selling the
duplicate and triplicate items because
Trudi and I are planning to move some-
time in the not-too-distant future.

Perhaps out to the Pacific Northwest,
perhaps elsewhere - we'll see - and
maybe we'll just travel and try a few
different places.

I can't take all of it with me - and I don't
want to bury anything in a storage unit -
so I'm working hard to find good homes
for it all.

That's also why we're not reprinting
Strength, Muscle and Power.

The last thing I need right now is another
2,000 books to store.

And it's why we sold out of Black Iron:
The John Davis Story and didn't print
any more.

We sold our last copy of Black Iron: The John Davis Story in 2017, and we're not doing another printing.
It's also why we're selling our Dinosaur
Training t-shirts at the Retro-Strength
Shop
. We don't have to keep a big inven-
tory of shirts.

So - five things which people keep
asking me:

Q. Do you have any copies of Strength,
Muscle and Power left?

A. No, we're all sold out.

But Bill Hinbern still has some - not many,
but *some* - so if you want one, grab it
from him:

If you act fast, you may be able to grab a copy of Strength, Muscle and Power from Bill Hinbern - but he doesn't have many left, so if you want one, contact Bill asap!

http://superstrengthtraining.com/strength-muscle-and-power-brooks-kubik

Q. Are you running low on any of your
other books?

Yes, we're getting near the end for the
Legacy of Iron books.

The 1,000 Pound Total is book 3 in the Legacy of Iron series. We still have full sets of all five books in the series - but not too many of them - and we're not going to print any more. If you want to grab a set, shoot me an email.
If you need one or more to complete your
set, shoot me an email and let me know
where you live and what you need - and
I'll work up a shipping quote for you.

For this and many other Dinosaur training t-shirts - as well as other cool strongman stuff - go to the Retro-Strength Shop at https://www.retrostrength.com/
 Q. Do you still carry Dinosaur Training
shirts?

A. We do, but you have to order them
from The Retro-Strength Shop:

https://www.retrostrength.com/

Head over, take a look around and
see what looks good - there are many
different Dino shirts and many other
cool strongman shirts.

Old mags from the 1940's - crammed with rare photos and priceless training advice!

Q. Do you have a list of your duplicate
old books and magazines for sale?

A. I'm working on one, but another
collector gets the first look at it.

After that, I'll start selling everything
on the list item by item.

I'll keep you updated by email.

Q. Are you going to keep on running
the Dinosaur business after you move?

A. Yes, I will. You know what they say -
once a Dino, always a Dino.

But we'll be moving more and more to
Kindle and PDF books and courses -
just because we won't be able to
keep a big inventory with us - so
if there are things on your wish
list and you want them in hard-
copy editions, grab them sooner
rather than later.

You can find everything right here
at Dino Headquarters:

Chalk and Sweat is one of our most popular training books. Right now, we have about three boxes left - which sounds like a lot, but they'll go fast - so if you want a copy, grab it now.

Five Things to Know

Calling all Dinos! - it's time for a quick update on some of the things that have been happening this week!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's Saturday morning, and it's been a heck
of a week - so I thought I'd mention some
important updates.

And since it's a wet, rainy day here in Louis-
ville - and the same for many of the rest of
you - I thought I'd mention some good stuff
to grab and read - and some good places to
visit today.

1. The John Wood Report

On Friday afternoon, John Wood released
issue no. 2 of The John Wood Report.

It's a monster-sized, 19 page issue, in PDF
format so you can get it instantly - and yes,
it's printable, so you can print it and save it.

It has some great articles and training tips.

Tips on building pressing power, some fun
push-up challenges, cool workouts, a primer
on the reverse curl, some ab flattening tips,
special gut exercises and - get this - the
Hammer Man's Challenge to the World.

Go here to grab the the little monster:

https://www.oldtimestrongman.com/johnwoodreport-02.html

If you missed issue no. 1, it's right here:

https://www.oldtimestrongman.com/johnwoodreport-01.html

2. The Dino Files

The March issue of The Dinosaur Files is
getting great reviews. If you don't have it
yet, here's the link for the downloadable
and printable PDF:

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur-files-march2018pdf.html

And if you missed the October, Nov, Dec
Jan or Feb issues, go here to grab them so
you have the complete set:

Feb issue

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur-files-february2018pdf.html

Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan issues

http://brookskubik.com/dinosaur_files.html

By then way - the March issue includes the
toughest leg training program in the world -
as well as the simplest bodyweight training
workout in the world - some special tips on
healthy joints for older Dinos - and a really
great article about how one of our longtime
Dinos has been battling back from cancer
surgery.

Very good stuff - informative, and super
inspiring!

3. The Strength Secrets Facebook Group

John Wood has started a fun new Facebook
group.

It's by invitation only - meaning you have to
apply and be approved for membership - so
it's limited to serious people having serious
discussions about the Iron Game.

Go here to apply for membership - and be
sure to tell John I sent you!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/strengthsecrets/

4. The Dinosaur Training Facebook
Group

Long ago, someone (and I don't know who),
started a Facebook Group for fans of Dinosaur
Training.

The admin bailed recently, and Bill Hinbern
took over as admin - and he made me an
admin, as well - so now we're trying to revive
the group and pep it up a bit.

So if you'd like to join that group, as well -
here's the link:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/85968831897/

5. The Coolest Strongman Coffee Mug
of All Time

John Wood's Retro-Strength Shop has a ton
of great stuff - including a full-color Louis
Cyr coffee mug that may very well be the
coolest strongman coffee mug of all time.

Go here to take a look - and see if you agree
with me:

https://www.retrostrength.com/product/louis-cyr-profile-mug/

There's more to update you on - but I'll save that
for another email.

In the meantime, and as always - thanks for
reading - and if you train today, make it a
good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

BEFORE YOU LEAVE . . .

We have more than 25 Dinosaur Training books and courses in the Kindle bookstore - here are several of them - head on over and take a look at the others:

How to Save Some Clams!

We just had another increase in postage rates - and rates for international mail are sky-double-high - so we're doing everything possible to help save you clams on shipping charges. Here are somethings that may help, depending on where you live and what you want to order.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

We just had another increase in postage
rates - and that means that postage for
international orders is sky-double-high.

However, we can do some things to help
you save clams on postage.

1. Order several books and courses.

The cost per item is usually a lot lower
if you order two or more books or
courses, so order two or three at a time.

2. Ask me for a shipping quote.

Before placing your order, ask me to
give you a shipping quote using First
Class Mail International. It may lower
the cost significantly, depending on
where you live and what you order.

3. Check our PDF and Kindle
options.

Some but not all of our books and
courses are now available in PDF or
Kindle editions. So if you want to
grab something with ZERO shipping
charges, look for the Kindle or PDF
options.

Right now, we have something like
25 books and courses in the Kindle
bookstore - including the Dinosaur
Files and the Dinosaur Files Quarterly -
and we have about the same number
of PDF books and courses - including
the new monthly Dinosaur Files
newsletter.

If you can't find something, or if you
have a question, shoot me an email.

To see all of our Kindle books, go
here:

http://www.brookskubik.com/kindle.html

To see our PDF books and courses, go
to our products page and scroll down
to the special section for PDF products
with electronic delivery:

http://www.brookskubik.com/products.html

The February issue of The Dinosaur
Files
newsletter hasn't made it to the
list of PDF products yet - but you can
grab it right here:

Another Busy Week!

We cracked open the final case of Strength, Muscle and Power this week - so if you want a copy, now's the time to act.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's been another busy week in Dino Land -
so I thought I should do a quick re-cap for
you.

1. I opened an eBay store.

The first item for sale is a killer issue of Peary
Rader's old IronMan magazine from 1967 -
and the bidding ends tomorrow, so if you're
interested in grabbing it, head on over and
make your bid asap:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/232661358800?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

I'll be adding some more items over the
weekend - be on the lookout for them.

QUICK UPDATE - I'm posting this on
Saturday after sending it to my email
list on Fri - so there's only about two
hours left on the bidding.

2. John Wood opened The Retro
Strength
Store!

It features t-shirts, mugs and all kinds of
great stuff, including FIVE different John
Grimek t-shirts, TWO different Russian
kettlebell t-shirts, Bosco coffee mugs,
and a "Joe Kinney No. 4 close" t-shirt.

Go here to check it out:

https://www.retrostrength.com/shop/

3. The Strength Secrets Facebook
Group
Blew Up!

We had tons of Dinos join the group, and
the posting and discussion has been great.

Go here to join us:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/strengthsecrets/

4. I cracked open the very last case of
Strength, Muscle and Power.

Not sure how many are left right now, but
it's somewhere between "Not many, and
they're going fast!" and "Sorry, they're
all gone."

We're not doing a reprint any time
soon - and perhaps not ever - so this
is your last chance to grab a copy:

http://www.brookskubik.com/strength_muscle_power.html

5. John Wood released a brand new
strongman coffee mug.

This one is "Coffee with Louis Cyr" - and
the design is pretty darn good - take a
look and see for yourself:

https://www.oldtimestrongman.com/louiscyr-mug-01.html

And I think that wraps it up. There may
have been more, but that's  all I can
remember right now.

Anyhow, it's been a heck of a busy week -
and next week is probably going to be
just as busy!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Wow, What a Week!

Not sure how it happened, but this photo broke my Instagram account - which was only one of the wild things that happened this week.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's been a heck of a busy week, with a ton of
great new stuff for the Dino Nation.

So I thought I'd catch up on things for you,
and put all the links in one email.

1. Coffee With Sandow.

John Wood launched something new and fun -
a series of strongman coffee mugs - the first
featuring none other than Eugene Sandow:

https://www.oldtimestrongman.com/sandow-mug.html

2. The Strength Secrets Facebok Group.

John Wood created a brand new, SECRET
Facebook group that fopcuses on real-world,
no-nonsense strength training, Iron Game
history, old school physical culture, etc.

Secret means it is by invitation only - not
a public group - and you need to apply
and be approved to join the group.

That's a way to limit it to serious people -
the folks like you and me - and not the
guys who talk drugs, supps and synthol
all day long.

John and I both post there - as does Bill
Hinbern - and so do many of our longtime
Dinos.

Go here to apply for membership - it's an
exclusive group, but I bet you can get in -
especially if you tell John you heard about
it here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/strengthsecrets/

3. The January Dinosaur Files.

I released the January issue of The Dinosaur
Files newsletter. It's a great issue, with some
killer workouts.

One of them is a special program to build a
solid combination of strength and muscle
mass - with a program that's got plenty
of traditional Dino elements, along with
some interesting new twists you may not
have tried before.

It's a simple but very effective program - and
one that I've recommended to many Dinos
over the years. I think you'll like it.

Go here to grab the little monster in PDF
format:

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur_files.html

The PDF is printable, so if you prefer to
have a printed copy of The Dinosaur Files,
all you need to do is grab the PDF and
print it out.

By the way, if you prefer a one-year, 12-issue
subscription, we can make that happen - just
shoot me an email and we'll get you set up.

4. My Instagram Exploded!

I posted some photos from the Dino Dungeon,
and my Instagram exploded. Go here to see
them - and hit the old LIKE and FOLLOW
buttons while you're over there:

https://www.instagram.com/brooks_kubik/?hl=en

5. I Got Buried in Trap Bar Questions!

The photos showed my trusty Trap Bar in action,
so I got buried in Trap Bar training questions -
and had to answer some of them in an email
to the Dinos. I posted it at the Dinosaur Training
Blog:

http://dinosaurtraining.blogspot.com/2018/01/the-two-most-common-trap-bar-questions.html

6. The Kindle Bookstore Went Wild!

The next thing you know, sales of my Kindle
books went sky-high - not sure why, but it was
good to see.

We have over 25 books in the Kindle bookstore
now - head on over and take a look to see if
there's anything you need to complete your
collection:

http://www.brookskubik.com/kindle.html

 7. Another New Coffee Mug!

Earlier today, John Wood released yet another
brand new coffee mug - this one featuring the
legendary Russian Lion, George Hackenschmidt:

http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/hackenschmidt-mug.html

As you can see, it was a very busy week - and the
coming week may be just as busy. Stay tuned!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Attack of the Killer Spiders!

I've been off line for a couple of days - and here's the reason why.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I've been off line for several days,
and missed most of the post Turkey
Day shopping frenzy.

But I have a good excuse.

I've been bad sick.

We think it was a spider bite - on my
right ear.

I don't remember being bit - but my
right ear swelled up like a big red
balloon on Friday night - and I had
all the symptoms of a spider bite:
fever, sweating, shivering, headache,
sore joints, and a general "got hit by
a truck" feeling.

But my right ear was the worst part
of it by far.

My right ear has always been a little
bit thick and mangled from my high
school wrestling days. It's not a true
cauliflower ear, but it's definitely been
through some battles.

But when it swelled up, it went right
into full cauliflower mode.

So what hundreds of wrestlers my size
weren't able to do over a period of six
years of junior high school and high
school wrestling, a wee little spider
did in about one second.

And he probably didn't work up a
sweat doing it.

I ended up in the urgent care center
on Saturday. The doc checked me out
and put me on some heavy duty anti-
biotics.

And then I spent most of Saturday
and Sunday resting and sleeping.

Trudi has been serving me tons of
high nutrition, anti-inflammatory foods
to help the healing process - along
with plenty of anti-inflammatory green
tea with lemon juice, fresh grated
ginger, and cinnamon.

It's all helping, and I'm feeling better
today. Nowhere near 100 percent, but
better. And my ear is starting to shrink
back down to its regular size.

Anyhow, I thought I'd update you and
let you know why I've been off-line.
Of course, we're still open for business,
and you can grab any of my books and
courses right here at Dino Headquarters:

Hard-copy and PDF

http://www.brookskubik.com/products.html

Kindle

http://www.brookskubik.com/kindle.html

I'm also selling back issues of Strength and
Health magazine from the 1930's through
the1980's. If you're interested in a particular
year, shoot me an email and let me know
what you'd like - where we'll be shipping
them - and how you prefer to pay for the
mags.

12 issue sets from the 1930's are $120 plus
shipping and handling.

12 issue sets from the 1940's forward are
$100 plus shipping and handling.

And that's the report. I hope YOU are doing
better than I am today - and I hope that
neither of us ever has another run-in with
one of those killer spiders.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Buried In An Endless Sea of Shirts

Things are super-busy here at Dino Headquarters today, and I'm not even going to be able to get outside and train! That's okay, though - it's all for a good cause - and I'll be able to hit the iron again tomorrow.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I'm late with today's email,
because we are buried in an
endless sea of Dinosaur
Training t-shirts.

We picked them up from the
printer yesterday afternoon,
and we've been packing and
filling orders for them ever
since.

It's funny, because we are in
a small apartment now, and
there are shirts stacked or
draped pretty much every-
where.

Trudi has stacked boxes and
packages for filled orders up
against one wall in the dining
room, and there are so many
that I can barely walk by. I
have to turn to my side and
walk on tippy toes to fit be-
tween the boxes and the
dining room table.

We'll keep on packing orders
for the rest of the day, and
then take all the packages to
the main post office and drop
them off.

I have to say this - the shirts
look and feel great. I'm very
happy with the new design,
and all the different colors,
and how well everything
turned out.

So here's a very big THANK
YOU
to everyone who placed
an order during the big t-shirt
sale.

In other news:

My Old School Q and A has been getting great reviews.

1. The Strength Training Q

That means the little monster is

Go here to grab your copy:

http://www.brookskubik.com/oldschool-qanda.html

John Davis - an Iron Game Immortal.

 2. Black Iron: The John Davis
Story

I thought I was sold out of this title,
but we found a box with 12 copies -
so if you want to grab one, shoot me
an email.

The price is $34.95 plus s&h.

We're not going to do a second
printing, so these are the last
copies I have.

Strength and Health - a terrific old-school magazine.

3. Strength and Health Magazine

We're moving soon, and I can't
take all my old mags with me, so
I'm selling the duplicate issues.
If you want to grab some issues
of Strength and Health from the
40's, 50's, 60's, 70's or 80's,
shoot me an email and ask for
a price quote for whatever year
or years you are interested in.

That's it for now - I need to get
back to those t-shirts!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Important Updates for Dinosaurs

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I have a couple of quick updates
for you.

1. Dinosaur T-Shirts

We checked with our t-shirt printer
this morning, and the new Dinosaur
Training t-shirts should be ready on
either Friday 9-8 or Monday 9-11.

As soon as we have them, we'll fire
them out the door to everyone who
placed an order.

2. Strength and Health Mags

We still have complete 12-issue sets
for many of the years from 1940 thru
1970.

Each 12-issue set runs $120.00 plus

We also have several sets of six

3. The Birthday Countdown

The birthday countdown continues.

I'll be turning 60 on 9-9.

That makes 51 years of training,
which is a lot of workouts over the
years.

Of course, I'm still training and still
having fun - and I look forward to
keeping you posted on the details
for a very long time. It would be lots
of fun to be tossing iron in my 70's,
80's and 90's.

4. The Strength Training Q and A

We just printed a bunch of copies
of my Old School Strength Training
Q and A, Vol. 1.

We don't have a sales page up yet,
but if you want to order a copy, shoot

Let me know how you prefer to pay,
and where we'll be shipping your copy
of the Q and A course.

New from John Wood!

Wishing you tons and tons of strength and health on this 4th of July holiday - and forever!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's Monday, but for many of us in the
USA, it's part of a four-day 4th of July
holiday weekend.

Of course, I'm working full speed on
some Dino books and courses. Stay
tuned - you're going to like them.

In the meantime, we're open for
orders today and tomorrow,
although they may not get mailed
until Wednesday.

And finally, here's something new
and fun from John Wood:

https://www.functionalhandstrength.com/fhs-pulling-rope/

John's also working on a course
about how to use the little monster.
I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Have a great day, and if you
train today, make it a good
one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

We have more than 25 Dinosaur Training books and courses in the Kindle bookstore - here are a couple of them - head on over and take a look at the others:
