I Thought My Fingers Would Explode!

It's been over 20 years since I published the first edition of Dinosaur Training - and the little monster has been going strong ever since.

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Earlier today, John Wood shared a photo
of copy no. 14 of Dinosaur Training -
signed by yours truly.

We know it's copy number 14, because I
signed and numbered every single copy of
Dinosaur Training back in 1996 when I
first released the little monster.

There were supposed to be 3,000 copies
in the first printing, but the printer ran
over - so we ended up with 3300 or so.

As I said, I signed and numbered every
single one of them - and yes, I thought
my fingers were going to explode.

I still sign books - but you have to ask
for
a signature when you place your
order.

Let me know who you want me to sign
the book to - James or Jim - Will, William
or Bill - or whatever.

Of course, if it's a gift for someone else,
and you'd like me to sign it, let me know
the lucky recipient's name.

There's no charge for a signature. It's an
honor to be asked for one.

I'll sign any of my hard-copy books for
you - including these little monsters:

Dinosaur Training: Lost Secrets of
Strength and Power

The little blue book they call "The Bible
of Strength Training."

Tons of great training ideas - thick bars,
sandbags, heavy awkward objects, death
sets, single rep training, abbreviated work-
outs, power rack training, and some very
important chapters on the all-important
mental aspects of strength training.

Includes some of my favorite workouts.

A best-seller since 1996.

Dinosaur Dumbbell Training

Tons of old-school dumbbell exercises -

pause training, mind power, finishers,
grip work, sandbags, barrels, one hand
deadlifts, tendon and ligament strength,
home gym training, specialization, some
of my favorite abbreviated and ultra-
abbreviated workouts - and much more!

Includes so many workouts I can't count
them all.

http://www.brookskubik.com/strength_muscle_power.html

Gray Hair and Black Iron

trainees - with a systematic, detailed

Shipping Madness at Dinosaur Headquarters!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Things are crazy here at Dino Headquarters.
If Santa's elves saw us in action, they'd run
in terror. That's because if Santa saw us in
action, he'd know the elves were moving
way too slow.

I'm signing books, writing notes, and tossing
books, courses, DVDs and other Dino goodies
into shipping boxes -- along with bonus
photos, which we always include whenever
we can.

Meanwhile, Trudi is printing address labels,
weighing boxes, running postage, and helping
me pack the shipping boxes.

When everything is packed, we race off to
the Post office -- and then we come back
and start all over again.

The goal is to get everything in the mail in
time for Christmas.

It's a lot of work, but it's for the Dinos --
and as I've always said, the Dinos deserve
the best.

Anyhow, if you want to place a Christmas
order, please do it now -- and if you want
me to autograph a book or course and include
a personal note, be sure to let me know who
to sign it to.

If someone orders a present for you, be
sure they give me your name and ask me
to autograph it for you (if it's a book or
course) or include a personal note  (if it's
a DVD or DVD set).

And, of course, if you have any questions
about a book, course or DVD, send them
on in. We're getting a lot of emails asking
for gift suggestions, as in, "My 14 year old
son wants to start a weight training
program -- what book or course should
he start with?"

I'll send a training email a little later. Right
now, there's more packing to do!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. My Dinosaur Training DVD's make a
great Christmas present -- and so does
my Going Strong at 54 DVD:

Attn Dinos -- It's That Time of Year Again!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's that time of the year again.

Christmas is right around the
corner, and we're working fast
and furious to fill all of the
orders we receive and get
them out the door and in
the mail in time for the big
day.

You can help us by doing
three things:

1. Get your orders in as soon
as you can -- today or tomorrow
if possible.

2. If you place a Christmas
order for someone else, give
us their name so we can include
a personal note for them.

a. If you order a book or course
for someone, be sure to give me
their name so I can sign it for
them. That always makes a
present extra special.

3. If someone else is going to
order something for you, be sure
they give us YOUR name so we can
autograph it for you if it's a book
or course, or include a note for you
if it's anything else.

There's no charge for an autograph.
It's an honor to be asked for one.

Thanks very much, and if you have
any questions, send me an email.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Training books, courses and DVDs

Look for Your Captain Midnight De-Coder Ring!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

1934 was a pretty good year.

The Columbia Lions upset Stanford 7-0 to win
the Rose Bowl.

Max Baer beat Primo Carnera to win the Heavy-
weight boxing championship -- setting up the
big "Cinderella Story" fight in 1935 with Jim
Braddock.

The St. Louis Cardinals "Gashouse Gang" beat
the Detroit Tigers to win an epic seven-game
World Series.

Bill Good won the Heavyweight class at the
1934 Senior Nationals, with a new record
in the clean and jerk of 324 pounds.

But best of all, the Ovaltine Co. sponsored
the Little Orphan Annie radio show -- and
gave a special handbook to all of the fan
members of the show -- and the handbook
included a secret code.

The next year, the Ovaltine Co. offered a
secret badge with a de-coder -- and a few
years later, the Captain Midnight radio
show took it to the next and greatest level
by offering a secret de-coder ring to all of
Captain Midnight's loyal listeners.

That was the same year that John Davis
shocked the world by winning the world
weightlifting championship at age 17 --
and who knows, he may have carried
one of those de-coder rings when he
made the trip to Vienna to compete in
the world championships.

Today, we're doing our best to carry on
that proud tradition.

We don't hand out Dinosaur de-coder rings,
but we include lots of other fun stuff when
we fill your orders for hard-copy books,
courses, the Dinosaur Files Quarterly,
shirts, CDs or DVDs.

I always try to include a letter or a card
(or both), or a photo or mini-poster.

If we have time, I try to sign your book
for you. (Not courses, unless you ask,
but books.)

And, of course, if you want me to sign a
book or course and include a personalized
message, all you need to do is ask -- and
let me know whether to sign it to "Jim" or
"James" or whatever name you prefer.

Use the Special Instructions section of the
on-line order form when you ask for a
special autographed message.

There's no charge for an autograph. We do
it because it's the right thing to do.

So when you get your next envelope or
package from Dino headquarters, look
inside for the special bonus. You'll always
find one.

As always, thanks for reading and have a
great day. If you train today, make it a
good one.

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. I'm pounding away on the June issue of
the Dinosaur Files Quarterly. If you missed the
December 2014 issue or the March 2015 issue
of the Quarterly, grab them here:

Attention Dinos -- Please Read!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

I need to clear up some possible confusion,
so pls read this message.

Yesterday's email message apparently led
several Dinos to think that I was giving
a free t-shirt with any order placed on
my birthday (Sunday, 9/9).

What I was trying to say -- but I must not
have said it very well -- was this:

To celebrate my birthday, I'm going to do
something special for everyone who places
an order for any Dino book, course, DVD,
t-shirt or other product.

When I fill your order, I'm going to include
an autographed photo. It's 8 1/2 x 11, full
color, and yes, it's a photo of me playing
around with some heavy iron out in the
garage.

I'm also going to include a short handwritten
note when I fill your order.

Yes, I know it's the digital age, but sometimes
it's good to do things the old-fashioned way.
And who knows -- maybe my autograph will be
worth something someday. And maybe that
handwritten note will end up in a museum.
Stranger things have happened.

I'm going to do this from now until the end
of September.

Please note: I will NOT be able to include
handwritten notes for everyone who ordered
Dinosaur Dumbbell Training, because we're
going to shoot them out the door as fast
as possible once we get them from the
printer, and doing the notes would slow
things down. But I WILL include the
autographed photo, along with the two
special bonuses that go with the new
Dumbbell Training Book.

Also -- on any book, including the new
Dumbbell Training book, if you'd like me
to autograph your book, all you need to
do is ask. (Use the Special Instructions
section of the on-line order form.) I'm
happy to do it, and there's no charge for
an autograph.

Finally -- if you placed an order yesterday
or earlier today, pls shoot me an email.
I want to follow up with each of you
individually.

Sorry for the confusion!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

Busy Birthday at Dino HQ!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's my birthday today, and I've been
up since 4:30 in the morning to work
on something for the Dino Nation.

I know that sounds crazy, but this is
something that many of you have been
asking about, and something I've trying
been wanting to do for you for a long
time -- and there aren't enough hours
in the day, so I decided to get an
early start of things.

I'm also doing something else for you.
Since it's my birthday, I decided to
include something extra with all
of the orders we fill.

The "something extra"  is an
autographed photo of yours
truly. And  I'll also include a short
handwritten note.

And yes, I'll get writer's cramp doing
this, but as I said, I wanted to do a
little something extra for the Dino
Nation.

I'm going to try to do this for the rest
of the month. Sort of a b'day special
from now until the end of September.

I won't be able to do handwritten notes
for everyone who ordered Dinosaur Dumbbell
Training, but I will include an autographed
photo -- along with two other special
bonuses.

And, as always, I'm happy to autograph a
book or course for you. There's no charge
for an autograph. If you want one, just
ask for it. (Use the Special Instructions
section of the on-line order form.)

I like to include a short personal note
when I autograph a book, so let me know
who to autograph it to -- Mike or Michael,
Jim or James, Pete or Peter, etc.

And if you're looking for encouragement
on something special -- like "Get that
400 pound squat!" or "Good luck in the
Contest!" let me know.

If someone orders a book or course for
you as a present, make sure they know
about the autograph and ask for one. I
always like to do that for presents.
It makes them all the more special.

BTW, over the years we've had a number
of girlfriends who ordered something
for their Dino sweetie -- and now
they're married. Trudi and I claim
full credit whenever that happens.

Anyhow, it's been a busy day, and there's
lots more to do before workout time --
so I need to get back to it.

As always, thanks for reading and have
a great day -- and if you train today
(as I will), make it a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. My books, courses and DVD's are
available right here at Dino Headquarters.
Remember, if you want an autograph on a
book or course, all you need to do is ask:

pretty good for a guy who writes about
5 x 5." -- Brooks Kubik

A Hodge-Podge of Things for Dinos!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

When I launched the first edition of
Dinosaur Training way back in 1996,
I hand-numbered and autographed all
3300 copies in the first printing.

Many of you have those autographed
editions. (If you do, hold onto them,
they fetch a collector's edition price
today -- and should fetch even more
20 or 30 years from now.)

And ever since then, many of you
have asked for an autograph whenever
I release a new book or course.

I'm always happy to autograph a book
or course for you (in fact, I'm honored
to do so). There's no charge for an
autograph -- all you need to do is
ask for an autograph in the Special
Comments section of the on-line order
form.

And speaking of autographs -- many of
you have children or grandchildren,
and so I'm getting more and more
requests to autograph a book for a
father and son who train together.
Or I get a request from a father or
grandfather to autograph the book
to his son or grandson -- on the
theory that he'll be reading and
applying it in a couple of years.

And frankly, that's pretty darn cool.

It reminds me of something I've been
meaning to ask you. Since so many
members of the Dino Nation are
fathers or grandfathers (or uncles)
(or both), let's talk about things
we can do for the kids and grand-kids.

Shoot me an email and let me know if
you're  interested in any of the
following:

1. A short training course for teenage
Dinos to help counter-act all the idiocy
out there and to get them off on the
right foot in their training.

2. Children's books with health and
fitness themes to reenforce good habits
at an early age.

3. Kid-size Dinosaur Training t-shirts.

3a. Onesies for those of you with junior
Dinos -- perhaps with the logo "Dino in
Training" -- that would be fun!

If you have other ideas along these lines,
let me know.

Oh, and one other thing. For those with
kids 11 or 12 or older, the Legacy of Iron
books would make pretty good reading --
and help teach or reenforce some very
important life lessons. Check them out!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. We just launched the big pre-publication
special for my new book, Dinosaur Dumbbell
training. You can reserve your copy right here:

http://brookskubik.com/dinosaur_dumbbelltraining.html

P.S. 2. The Legacy of Iron books are right
here -- note that you can order multiple books
in the series at a discount. See the bottom of
the sales pages for books 3, 4 and 5 for details:

No. 1 -- Legacy of Iron

No. 2 -- Clouds of War

No. 3 -- The 1000 Pound Total

No. 4 -- York Goes to War!

http://www.brookskubik.com/legacy_of_iron4.html

No. 5 -- Barbells in the Pacific

P.S. 3. And don't forget -- if you want an
autograph when you order a book or course, all
you need to do is ask!

An Important Message for Dinosaurs!

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

Well, you fooled me.

When I asked if you'd be interested in a
new course covering John Grimek's life and
lifting -- and how he trained -- I thought
a number of Dinos would say, "Yes, I'd like
to see it!"

I was wrong.

It's more like every Dino out there!

I was flooded with emails from Dinos who want
to see a John Grimek course. I mean, flooded.
And the emails are still coming in. My in-box
hasn't been this busy since I don't know when.

So here's what I'm going to do:

1. I'm going to push everything else off to the
side and work on the new course.

2. Trudi is in charge of monitoring and feeding
me. I get short breaks every hour to stretch my
legs, and I get 30 mins for lunch and dinner.
Otherwise, I'm under strict orders to "Work like
heck!" until I get it finished. (Her words, not
mine -- she's trying to help you guys!)

3. Sometime next week, you're going to see a
special sales page for the new course. As always,
we're going to do a pre-publication special. That
helps me a great deal, because I know in advance
how many copies of the course to order from the
printer, and I don't have to guess and end up with
too few or too many.

3A. Everyone who orders during the pre-publication
special gets a bonus when we fill the orders.

3B. I may do something extra-special -- a double
bonus for everyone who reserves their copy of the
course on the day we launch it. So be sure to check
for an email about the new course -- and when you
see it, take immediate action to get the double
bonus.

3C. If you prefer to send a ck or money order, that's
fine, but be sure to send an email letting me know
that you plan to do so -- and I'll count your order
as "received" when I get the email.

3D. As always, if you want me to autograph your
course, just ask! There's no charge for autographs.
All you need to do is include a request in the
Special Instructions section of the on-line order
form. And let me know who to sign it to (James,
or Jim, Mike or Michael, etc.).

4. I'm not sure exactly when the course will be
ready, but as noted above (see point no. 2) I'm
going to be working fast and furious -- and when
I'm in fast and furious mode, things happen.

4A. "Things happen" means -- it won't be very
long. I type with two fingers, but I type fast!

5. In the meantime, if you're interested in
John Grimek, Steve Stanko, Bob Hoffman and the
other York champions from the 1930's and 1940's,
I cover them in the LEGACY OF IRON books -- and
you can find them at Dino Headquarters. Legacy of
Iron is no. 1 in the series -- Clouds of War
(which features John Grimek on the cover) is
no. 2 -- The 1,000 Pound Total is no. 3 --
York Goes to War! is no. 4 -- and Barbells in
the Pacific (which also features Grimek on the
cover) is no. 5. You can find them here:

http://www.brookskubik.com/legacy_of_iron.html

http://www.brookskubik.com/clouds_of_war.html

http://www.brookskubik.com/1000pound_total.html

http://www.brookskubik.com/legacy_of_iron4.html

http://www.brookskubik.com/barbells_pacific.html

6. You also can learn about John Grimek's favorite
leg specialization program in CHALK AND SWEAT:

http://www.brookskubik.com/chalk_and_sweat.html

7. In closing, let me say THANK YOU to everyone who
stepped up and shot in a response and said, "Please
do a course on John Grimek and his training!" Your
support, feedback and enthusiasm is overwhelming --
and I really, REALLY appreciate it!

As always, thanks for reading, and have a great day.
If you train today, make it a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

something, do it right. That applies to training as

Autograph Requests for Dinos

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

It's Holiday season, and we're getting
a ton of orders from sisters, girlfriends,
wives and mothers.

Some of them ask for an autograph on the
books and courses they order -- but some
don't. We try to follow up and see if an
autograph is desired (it always is), but
that takes time and slows things down by
a day or two.

So please help us to help you -- and do
this:

1. If you place an order for a book or course
and you want me autograph it and include a
brief personal message, then ask for an
autograph in the Special Instructions section
of the on-line order form.

1A. Give the name you want me to use when I
write the message to you -- "James" or "Jim" --
"Mike" or "Michael", etc.

1B. If you want the message to reflect a personal
goal ("Good luck in hitting that big 500 pound
squat!"), then let me know.

2. If someone else places an order for you,
as a Christmas or birthday gift, please ask them
to request an autograph and to give me the info
I need for a personal message to you.

3. Several folks have asked how much I charge
for autographs.

The answer is ZIPPO. NOTHING. NO CHARGE. It's a
special free bonus for Dinos. A way to help make
your book or course a little more special and a
little more memorable.

4. As I've said before, I'm always happy to
autograph a book or course and include a brief
personal message to the reader. In fact, I'm
honored to do so. All you have to do is ask!

As always, thanks for reading and have a great day.
If you train today, make it a good one!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. Dinosaur Headquarters is your one-stop shopping
place for great gifts for serious strength trainers,
garage gorillas, cellar-dwellers, fans of Iron game
history, and other physical cultural enthusiasts. You
can find my books, courses, and DVD's right here:

http://www.brookskubik.com/products.html

P.S. 2. Save clams on shipping by ordering two or
more products at one time!

it through, make a plan, and implement." -- Brooks

Autographed Copies of Dinosaur Training Books and Courses

Hail to the Dinosaurs!

We're starting to get lots of Christmas
orders from wives, girlfriends, mothers
and sisters, so Trudi asked to send out
a reminder.

1. I'm always happy to autograph a book
or course or to include a personal note
with an order -- especially if it's a
birthday, anniversary or Christmas
present. And there's no charge for it.

2. However -- if you want an autograph,
you need to ask me for it!

3. If someone orders something for you
as a present, be sure they ask for an
autograph or personal note.

4. And of course, we need to know your
name -- meaning, the name you'd like me
to use when I sign your book or course.
If your name is Daniel, let me know if
you want it signed to Daniel or to Dan.
If your name is James, tell me whether
you prefer James or Jim.

5. Many of you ordered Dinosaur Bodyweight
Training and asked me to autograph your
book. If you already placed an order and
did NOT request an autograph -- or if you
don't remember -- and you WANT an autograph,
then shoot me an email ASAP! Title if
"Autograph Request!"

There -- I have now assured myself of non-stop
writer's cramp for at least the next 6 weeks!
But that's okay. Autographed copies of books
and courses are something of a tradition in the
Iron Game -- and they always make a book or
course extra special -- and I'm happy to do it
for you.

After all, you're a Dinosaur -- and Dinos
deserve the best!

Yours in strength,

Brooks Kubik

P.S. The pre-publication special for Dinosaur
Bodyweight Training ends as soon as I get the
shipment of books from the printer -- and they're
on the way, so if you haven't already done so,
reserve your copy now!

http://www.brookskubik.com/dinosaur_bodyweight.html

P.S. 2. My other books and courses -- and DVD's --
and the Dinosaur Files newsletter -- are right here:
