Start your day the right way - with seven strength shorties for Saturday. |
Hail to the Dinosaurs!
I thought I'd give you seven for
Saturday this morning - meaning
seven shorties about real world,
no-nonsense strength training and
muscle building.
These shorties range from 14 to
41 words - with an average of 28
words.
So they read fast - but they deliver
a big dose of "tell it like it is."
Let me know how you like them!
1. The Beginning
"What is it?"
"This is a barbell."
And so it begins.
2. Dumbbells
"My right arm is way bigger and
stronger than my left arm! What
can I do?"
The gym owner waved a massive
arm and pointed at the dumbbell
rack.
"Use those," he said.
3. Power Rack
"What's that?' asked the newbie.
The gym owner smiled.
"It's a growing rack," he said.
4. Five Pounds
He held the two small plates in his
hands.
Together, they weighed five pounds.
"You don't weigh anything!" he said.
He added them to the bar - pushing it
up to a new PR - and lifted it.
5. Stairs
He didn't squat.
He started to squat.
He had trouble walking up the stairs
from the basement gym where he
trained.
He kept squatting - and he became
the greatest weightlifter of his
generation.
6. Too Big
"I don't wanna get too big," he said.
The gym owner nodded his head.
"Don't worry," he said. "If you don't
wanna, you definitely won't."
7. Books
"I don't read books!"
"Read this."
It was a copy of Dinosaur Training.
He read it.
You know the rest of the story.
Yours in strength,
Brooks Kubik
